We are well past the phase of AI just generating pretty pictures; we are now fully into telling complex narratives. Run Lola Run is an iconic film that came out when I was a film student, and it blew me away with its frenetic editing and mixed-media visual style. Now its director, Tom Tykwer, is using Seedance to help him realise his latest project, yet another experienced, talented director incorporating AI assistance into a hybrid workflow. As I have illustrated in my previous posts and tests, AI is no longer a one-armed bandit where you press the button and hope for a good result. It’s a directable tool that can help visionaries realise their vision. Directors, producers, actors, crew and AI all working together to produce human-created stories. Check out the BTS of Tom and his team’s Live action + Seedance tests below 👀
